ABOUT US
Passionate About Inspiring Others
Our life journey (over 30 years together) has been filled with individual learning and growth as a couple. Early in our marriage we benefited from couples counseling. We began to learn how differently we approach (and see) life due to our own life experiences as children and young adults. By the time we were celebrating 8 years of marriage we had two biological daughters and began pondering a third child. For years we had considered adoption, so in our early 30's we began the process of research and ultimately DCFS foster and adoption training. We adopted a six year old boy and began meeting regularly with adoption/foster support groups.
Doug enlisted in the Navy just after high school and was serving in the U.S. Navy Reserves throughout our marriage. After 15 years of marriage, Andrea's mother moved across the country to live with us due to her declining health. And then, a short time later, Doug received deployment orders to serve for one year boots-on-ground (1 1/2 years total including training) in Afghanistan. Our three children were 7, 10, and 11 years old, so Andrea was transitioning 2 of our children to middle school, managing the household and finances, and caring for her mother. Doug's return from his mobilization was a time of celebration but brought conflict and new emotional wounds.
It was around this time Andrea was first introduced to a form of personal growth and development we refer to as soul work: an experiential means of self reflection, understanding and connection with our true self. Over the next 10 years Andrea continued her pursuit of soul work with several organizations including Women Revealed, The Crucible Project and The Allender Center. Doug also began the journey of soul work in 2017
Today we are committed to helping others achieve growth, success, and healing, even as we continue our own work. We have been honored to share our growth (and mistakes) with others over the years, and we feel excited to offer it now as an ongoing service.
